ACER ASPIRE 4552

This is my second Acer Aspire since the last Aspire I had was quickly turned into cash upon acquiring much fancier Dell Precision laptop. I consider Acer Aspire to be a boring version of technology. Maybe because of the cheap plastic feel, and oh, it is everywhere. You will find people in Cafes using Aspire, you will see school kids using Aspire in bus stops, you will find Acer Aspire on Mamak stalls, shopping complex, bus stand , Klang Banting Bas, KL-JB bus, Batam-Stulang ferry, car-wash, public waiting room, Hand phone shops, oh no, it is everywhere! I believe, this is due to the fact, that Acer Aspire is widely available through most of local retail outlet, and rather inexpensive. The new Acer Aspire 4552, bronze is powered by AMD Athlon dual Core processor X2 P320। A decent and cheap processor that able to do light to medium, or sometime heavy processing duties; word processing, desktop accounting and spreadsheets, a little Photoshop now and then, some movies, MP3, and of course… for Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction botting… Not bad for a machine costing less than RM1।6k. The laptop could handle a non-stop 3 days botting. Maybe this is quite norm now. Almost any laptop can do this, and perhaps outperform them by 2-3 folds.
The keyboard design is sleek, but easier to trap dust and dirt. Well, I’ve seen those, silicon-keyboard- cover on sale and widely used on the market, but seriously I don’t think I would want to stay using those silicon-keyboard-cover after a few strikes of the key. It belongs to one of those not-that-useful invention, it might seem useful at first, but after a few seconds using it, I would tear it to pieces rather to have that sticky ‘condom’ feels on my finger tips. Doh… I’ve a few of those so-called cheap keyboard cover for sell too, but oh, how I hate using them. They do attract dust.
Mine is equipped with the lowest processor which is AMD Athlon™ II dual-core processor P320/P340 (1 MB L2 cache, 2।10/2.20 GHz, DDR3 1066 MHz, 25 W), N350 (1 MB L2 cache, 2.40 GHz, DDR3 1066 MHz, 35 W) with AMD M880G Chipset. It has a 2 GB of DDR3 system memory, which is upgradable to 8 GB using two soDIMM modules and a 14" HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The nicest part is that, it is fitted with ATI Radeon™ HD 4250 Graphics with 256 MB of dedicated system memory. Therefore enough juice to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare2 at a low setting, and some other not so graphic intense games. 320GB of hard disk space is good enough to keep the most of my programs needs. The Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n WIFI is also pretty remarkable since it can detect and fit in snuggly into my wireless settings, every time it turned on. Other than that, quite common stuff one will find on a 14” notebook, DVD writer, webcam, Bluetooth, SD Card Reader , HDMI port, Ethernet(RJ-45) port, 3 USB ports, Kensington Lock Slot.
Acer Arcade Deluxe is also bundled with the laptop, since it came with Microsoft Windows 7 64Bit Home Premium Edition. It is a player for music, photos and movies with integrated social networking tools. By using the touchpad, one can select the medi type and share it with others over the internet based applications such as Youtube, Facebook and Flickr. By the way, the screensavers and power-saving feature will be unavailable during using it such as, watching videos or running optical disc and slideshows. The battery life is 2 hours. I use to forget these crucial steps upon receiving and operating a new laptop which are;
Insert the new battery without turning on the laptop.
Connect the AC adapter and fully charge the battery.
Disconnect the AC adapter.
Turn on the laptop, and operate it until the battery drains out completely.
Reconnect the AC adapter and fully charge the battery again.
Repeat the steps for three times.
